Yay spring is here and that means playing with more brighter colours. In our Spring Lipstick trends 2018, we have gathered some inspiration from some of our favourite makeup artists, the runway, red carpet and the streets in London. A lot of times these trends are not wearable in the every day makeup look but not for Spring Lipstick trends 2018, a lot of these looks are wearable. Just like with any trend, play around with the colours and the shape and find the best one for you. We are all unique and one thing that may work for someone may not for someone else.

Is’n it fun being a woman – we get to play with all this shades of lipsticks 🙂 “
Some things to consider when choosing a lipstick
Not all lipsticks will work with your skin tone. It might look great on someone else and you might love the colour, but you must go with what works best with your skin tone.
If the lipstick colour clashes with your skin tone, it will just look off. You know that feeling when everything looks great but there is just something off. Yes, it’s the lipstick colour. It can complement your makeup look or make it look off.
Know your skin undertone.
You can have either yellow or pink skin undertone. Pink is cooler and yellow is warmer. You can also have a mixture of both where you can wear most colours, also known as the olive skin tone.
Find out your skin undertone by what colour jewellery works best with your skin tone. Pink tones look better with silver jewellery while gold looks better on yellow skin undertones.

I love love mat lipsticks ❤❤❤”
Once you know your skin undertone …
Yellow undertone works best with warmer colours while pink tones work best with cooler tones. Lipsticks that have a more blue or purple tone to the lipstick works best for pink undertone skin type. This is not something set in stone and you can of course wear whatever colour that makes you happy and makes you feel good. Because when you feel good you look good.

This lipsticks smell so good I end up eating them of my lips I know I know, what can I do when they smell and taste like cake 😂 “
Let’s go over some lipstick trends that will dominate this year – Spring Lipstick trends 2018
Lip gloss is back
While the matt look is still in, we are seeing more and more lip gloss looks coming to the forefront. The dewy look is trending on the skin and on the lips. The glossier the better is the motto for Spring Lipstick trends 2018.
Cupids Bow Highlight
Highlighting specific point on your face can make this area stand out and appear bigger. Makeup artists have been using this trick for decades. On a lot of fashion shows for spring, we could see this highlight on cupid’s bow being bolder. Where the highlight is standing out in the look and is focal point of the look.
You can apply glitter and shimmery colours on top of your cupids bow to make it stand out. Since the look is more about making the highlight stand out you can go with any colour of your choice as long as the colour is lighter than your lipstick shade. The lighter the highlight shade the more it will pop.
You can also play with some Metal Liquid Liners to make the cupids bow stand out. These are easy to apply and will really bring out the highlight.
Red is always in Trend
For Spring Lipstick trends 2018 we have noticed a more bare face and bold red lip look. Minimum makeup on the eyes and more focus on the red lip. Find the right red tone for your skin tone. Like mentioned above if you have yellow skin tone go for warmer red tones. If you have pink skin undertone go for cooler red tones. It’s all about finding the perfect red lipstick for You. Rich blue based red tones to bright orange tones, there is one that works best for you.
How to apply lipstick
Before applying lipstick make sure to prepare your lips:
- Scrub your lips to remove any dead skin cells or chapped/cracked lips
- Apply lip balm or lip conditioner to get rid of any dryness.
- Before applying the lipstick wait for the lip conditioner to dry or use tissue and remove the excess, this stops your lipstick from bleeding.
- Use a lip pencil to keep the lipstick in place for longer and to shape your lips.
- You are ready to apply your lipstick, use a lip brush for a better application.
- Finish with some lip-gloss if desired, focus on applying gloss at the centre points of your lips and not on the whole lips. This gives your lips a better dimension and depth.

Finding the right shade for you takes many tries and errors but once you find the perfect shade for you no matter the brand you will be the most loyal customer, you can guess my favourite shade 🙂 ❤ “

I don’t know at what point it starts to be called obsession 🙂 “
